Guy Baron - Assistant Treasurer

For Guy, joining the Board of FPDI is just another opportunity to have a small part in helping Haiti. Despite his many years of separation from his place of birth, Guy has always been involved in activities concerning Haiti and Haitians. He is a founding member of HAUP (Haitian American United for Progress) a Haitian Community center in Queens, NY and has served on the board of Friends of Montfort, an organization that supports a school for deaf-mute children in Haiti.

Guy was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In 1955, to escape the political turmoil and civil unrest that had overtaken his homeland, he left Haiti for the USA. He served in the US Air Force for four years and then settled in New York to complete his studies in Engineering and Business Management. He worked for 20 years at Western Electric Company, now Alcatel Lucent, in various managerial positions.
